If there was a place where the world is different it has to be the Bahama's. The list of Certified Guides for Orvis in the area reads like a family tree. It's cool seeing all those brown faces with the same last name. Lets you know that somewhere on the planet this art form, that also pays the bills, is passed along effectively. I am sure this isn't first generation either. I wonder how many of these guys have poled around some well known fishing celebrity and put them on a fish that ended up on the cover of some magazine? I wonder if they gave a shout out to their guide? I wonder when we'll move from the back of the boat to the front? Marinate...
